Gonda: According to a statement released by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday, a railway official in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh, was detained for requesting and receiving a bribe of Rs 50,000.
An accused SSE, P. Way, Truck Depot, Indian Railways, Gonda (Uttar Pradesh), was detained by the CB for allegedly requesting and receiving a bribe of Rs 50,000 from the complainant, according to the release.
According to the CBI, a complaint dated November 11 served as the basis for the November 13 registration of a case against the accused SSE, P. Way, Gonda (U.P.).
In order to load items from the Railway Material Depot, the accused officer allegedly sought a payment of Rs 50,000 at a cost of Rs 100 per ton. Approximately 500 tons of railway supplies were allegedly carried over the course of the previous two months, and the accused threatened to impede the complainant’s work and to cancel the current contract if the bribe was not paid.
“On November 13, the CBI set up a trap and apprehended the accused while taking a Rs 50,000 bribe from the complainant. According to the CBI’s press release, the accused will appear before the Court of Learned Special Judge, Anti Corruption, CBI Court No. 6 in Lucknow on November 14.
The accused’s property is the subject of searches. It also said that further research is being done.
