The Bharatiya Janata Party strongly condemned Congressman Kanhaiya Kumar for his “controversial” comments on Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’ wife, Amruta Fadnavis.
Kanhaiya Kumar took a jab at Deputy CM Fadnavis for his “Dharamyuddh” comment, saying that everyone should do their part to preserve “dharma.” It shouldn’t be like people are preserving religion while the Deputy CM’s wife is “making reels on Instagram.”
According to Devendra Fadnavis, the deputy chief minister, this is a ‘Dharamyudh.'” This is advantageous. Protecting democracy and the constitution, for which I am here and speaking today, is our Dharam. The sole question you should pose to the leader who is speaking to you about religion preservation is, “Will your child join us in this battle to preserve religion?” remarked Kanhaiya on Wednesday during a public gathering in Nagpur.
“Will it come to pass that your children will attend Oxford and Cambridge universities and that we will be responsible for preserving the religion? Let’s work together to preserve religion if we choose to do so. We cannot salvage religion when the wife of the Deputy Chief Minister creates clips for Instagram. That can’t be the case. “We will all work together to save the religion,” he said.
Devendra Fadnavis said last week that the “Dharma-Yuddha” of the vote should be used to oppose the “Vote-Jihad” of the approaching assembly elections while promoting Mahayuti candidates.
The BJP strongly criticized Kanhaiya’s comments. Shehzad Poonawalla, the party spokesman, referred to Kanhaiya as “Naxali Afzal Guru Samarthak” and added that his comments were offensive to all Marathi women.
“Hey, Kanhaiya Kumar, a supporter of the Congress who supports Naxali Afzal Guru. You have no right to disparage a Maharashtra daughter. The slur from Amruta Fadnavis is directed at all Marathi women. “The people of Maharashtra will teach a lesson to those who use terms like ‘imported maal’ and’rejected maal,'” Poonawalla said in a post on X.

The opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) and the governing Mahayuti are both trying to win over voters as the campaigning for Maharashtra’s 288 assembly seats has heated up.
Voting will take place on November 20 and the count will take place on November 23.
The Congress won 44 seats, the Shiv Sena 56, and the BJP 105 in the 2019 Maharashtra assembly elections. MVA put up a strong showing in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, taking 30 of 48 seats, while the Mahayuti was only able to get 17.
