Synopsis

Due to hazardous air pollution levels exceeding 400 AQI, all primary schools in Delhi transitioned to online classes. The Delhi government implemented GRAP-3 emergency measures, including halting construction, reducing industrial emissions, and curbing vehicular traffic to combat the severe pollution.

Delhi air pollution has hit 'severe' levels.
With air pollution levels in Delhi reaching hazardous levels, the Delhi government on Thursday announced closure of all primary schools and transition to online classes until further notice.

Delhi CM Atishi took to her X and said, "Due to rising pollution levels, all primary schools in Delhi will be shifting to online classes, until further directions."

Delhi’s air quality has rapidly deteriorated over the past few days, with readings crossing the 400 AQI mark in many areas.

Just today, the government implemented Stage III of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP-3) to tackle pollution through a series of emergency measures.

GRAP-3 restrictions include halting construction and demolition activities, reducing industrial emissions, and cutting down vehicular traffic, especially diesel-powered vehicles, across the National Capital Region (NCR).
