Bihar's Purnia Police has arrested 35 accused in the case, revealing major rigging at the Central SSC examination centre. Superintendent of Police Kartikeya Sharma said that the arrested accused also include seven employees and fake candidates. He said that the role of the Central Selection Commission's flying squad team is suspicious, which is being investigated.
Police have recovered three laptops, one printer, 18 mobiles, two motorcycles, two cars, 12 blank cheques, 22 ATM cards, 52 Aadhar cards, 40 e-admit cards etc. from the possession of the accused along with Rs 4.50 lakh cash.
MTS examination was conducted at the examination center named Digital Examination Center in Hansda Road of Purnia Sadar Police Station. The police had an inkling of rigging in the examination. In the light of the information, when the police team raided the said centre, 12 fake candidates were caught by the police. During investigation, the biometric attendance of the fake students could not be matched.
During inspection, 12 original candidates and two other persons were found present in the adjacent building. Police investigation has revealed that Roshan of Katihar district is the main leader of this gang, who is being searched. It has also come to light in the investigation that a deal was made with each student for Rs 10.50 lakh.
