While we recall The Kapil Sharma Show, Navjot Singh Sidhu’s poetry and laughter immediately strike our minds. Now, five years after he quit it for Kapil Sharma’s show, The Great Indian Kapil Sharma Show, Sidhu will again join the same.
Sidhu had walked out of the show in 2019 without telling anyone. And there could be a number of reasons behind his walkout; however, neither Kapil Sharma, nor Sidhu, at that point came out in public to express the reason.
Five years on, Sidhu is returning to Kapil’s Netflix show, The Great Indian Kapil Sharma Show. In an interview, Sidhu finally opens up about why he had left the show back then.
Elaborating on Indian media, Sidhu stated that in his appearance on The Kapil Sharma Show, he featured in a number of avatars of the show. The series was likened by Sidhu to a bouquet of flowers: “Everyone brought his importance and focus in.”
Sidhu was asked if he quit the show. His response mentioned that the decision was on political grounds, but he preferred not to elaborate any further on the subject. He explained that the bouquet, decorated in love, had a fall eventually and although he wished it had remained as beautiful and fragrant as it was, circumstances led it to a downfall. He added that in spite of everything, The Kapil Sharma Show is still running successfully and doing very well.
One reason for the sudden departure of Sidhu was a controversial statement he had made in the wake of the Pulwama terrorist attack, due to which there was a huge backlash. After this incident, he decided to leave the show and left all his responsibilities to Archana Puran Singh.
