Fitness is key when you live a hectic schedule. The body needs to sustain and be efficacious enough fo you to be productive. The lives of actors might be lavish and opulent looking at their cruise trips. However, there is lot of blood and sweat that goes behind it. In order to maintain a healthy physique and toned bodies, several celebrities are other fitness enthusiasts or maintain a dedicated workout and health regime. This is the story of a celebrity fitness trainer.
With her base set up in Mumbai, she has worked with numerous actors. Scrolling through her social media, one may find that she shares a close bond with Katrina Kaif. She has also trained Deepika Padukone, Bipasha Basu, Preity Zinta, Alia Bhatt among others. Her name is Yasmin Karachiwala.
In an old interview, she once revealed that she was 18 years old when she first went to a gym. “Peer pressure works in many ways. As does peer acceptance. I flowed along, and the rest is history,” she recalled in an interview.
Karachiwala was born in US and completed her schooling at Saint Agnes High, USA. She came to India for her further studies and completed her further studies at Saint X’aviers Mumbai. As a teenager, she never participated in sports. “I liked to do things where I could show my strength. Even in school, the only sport I did was shot put and javelin throw, as it needed strength,” she said in an interview.
However, Yasmin later took a fitness course from the American College of Exercise and became certified in a fitness course. Every aspiration has small starting and only takes proper nourishment to germinate into a full fledged dream. Similar is Yasmin’s story.
She started with a small fitness studio in her guest room. Later, she expanded and turned part of her terrace into a studio, reportedly. In order to harness her skills and knowledge as a fitness trainer, she went to the US to pursue Pilates and became the first BASI (Body Arts and Science International) certified Pilates instructor in India. In 2015, She started her own fitness studio in Bandra, Mumbai in 2015 by the name ‘Yasmin’s Body Image’ and over time became a famous celebrity trainer. She now also has franchises in South Mumbai, Andheri (Western Mumbai), Dubai, Dhaka, and Delhi.
She got married to Minhaz Karachiwala on December 5, 1993. They are parents to twos sons today. Adding on her the feathers on her cap, Yasmin also co-authored book Sculpt and Shape” The Pilates.
She ha won several awards till date. According to a report by Times Now, the trainers approximately charges Rs 45,000 from actors like Katrina and Alia Bhatt. However, the charges may vary for others who wish to join her classes and gym. Depending on individuals’ requirements, there are tailor made packages as well.
