Important announcements have been made recently regarding the construction of a new airport in Bhagalpur. The Bihar government has canceled the proposed airport at Goradih and selected new sites at Sultanganj and Akbarnagar. This decision has been taken after ground inspection conducted by the local administration and the Directorate of Civil Aviation.
The district administration of Bhagalpur had earlier selected land for the airport in Goradih area, but during measurement of the land there, it was found that the available land was inadequate for the construction of the airport. After this, the administration has sent a proposal for 855 acres and 833.5 acres of land in Sultanganj and Akbarnagar.
The construction of the new airport will give a boost to many types of development works in Bhagalpur and surrounding areas. This will not only empower the local economy but also improve the connectivity of the area.
The district administration has started preparing a map of new sites in Sultanganj and Akbarnagar, which will be sent to the Directorate of Civil Aviation. After this, if the proposal is accepted, the process of land acquisition will begin.
.Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary has also confirmed that a new international airport will be built in Sultanganj, which will be 4000 meters long and 740 meters wide.
The construction of the new airport in Bhagalpur will not only encourage local development but will also strengthen the economic condition of the entire region.
