Bengaluru: A 14-year-old boy, studying in class 9, was brutally beaten up by his father for excessively using his mobile phone in Bengaluru's Kumarswamy Layout. The incident took place on Friday morning, leaving the kid badly hurt. According to the police, the minor boy was taken to the hospital only after 3 pm, where the doctors declared him dead upon arrival. The accused father went ahead with the funeral without reporting the incident to the police. However, the police reached the location after getting a PCR call, detailing the incident. According to the police, the situation was tense in the house from last night when the teenage boy had an argument with his father when he asked to get his broken mobile phone repaired. The angry father denied, and pointed out that the teen used to not attend school regularly, spend most of the time on the phone and stay out late with friends. Angry with the kid, Ravi Kumar, the accused father, used a bamboo stick to beat up his child. He also banged the minor’s head into the wall, leaving him severely injured. Despite that, Kumar did not take the kid to the hospital until his situation started to deteriorate.
Who Called the Police? After bringing the kid back home, the family started preparation for the last rites. However, it is said that the mother of the deceased kid had alerted the neighbours who informed the police about the situation. On the basis of a PCR call, the police reached the location, and found the class 9 student dead. They arrested the accused father, while launching a legal probe.
