Nowadays, makers just spend Rs 300-500 crores to make films. Some films earn well and some films are not able to even meet their budget. Ajay Devgan is in discussion these days about 'Singham Again'. Recently Ajay Devgan also presented his opinion on South vs Bollywood. He presented his views to everyone by comparing the two industries.
Ajay Devgan highlighted the lack of unity in Bollywood compared to the South Indian film industry, while Akshay Kumar also revealed that he does not take fees if a film flops or does not make a profit. Both of them said that most of the actors charge fees based on the earnings of the projects. At the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit 2024, Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgan talked about the increased film budget and actors' fees.
Akshay Kumar told that sometimes it happens that actors are not able to earn any money. Whereas Ajay Devgan clearly said that the fees are decided considering the script, film or project. Reiterating Ajay's views, Akshay said that many actors now choose the option of profit sharing agreement instead of fees. Due to this, if the film is a hit, the actors get a share in the profits, but if the film flops, they get nothing. In such a situation, they share the risk with the makers.
Akshay Kumar also discussed the time when there was no profit sharing and the actors had to give up their hard-earned money completely. He was given credit only for his work and passion. While speaking on the South Industry, Ajay said that Bollywood struggles for unity among its members. Akshay also seems to agree with him.
