NEET Success Story: Rising out of poverty and using the power of education to change your station in life is one of the most hardest things to do especially in a country like India where opportunities are few and pursuing a competitive exam requires coaching which is expensive for the majority. However there are a handful of people who manage to overcome all these odds and achieve remarkable success with their sheer hard work and dedication. One such shining example is the inspiring story of Sheikh Sarfaraz a young man from a small village in West Bengal who used to work as a daily-wage labourer but conquered these overwhelming odds and cracked the NEET medical entrance test to become a doctor. Who is Sheikh Sarfaraz? The heartwarming story of Sheikh Sarfaraz recently came to the limelight after Physics Wallah founder Alakh Pandey shared the tale on his Instagram page. Pandey who met Sarfaraz and his family revealed how the young man used to work as a labourer with his father and carried bricks to construction sites for minimum wage. Despite being good in studies Sarfarazs opportunities were limited due to his financial situation but the brave man never gave up on his dream of achieving something significant in his life and studied hard to make his dreams come true. During the day Sarfaraz along with his father toiled in the scorching sun working as a daily wage labourer and carrying heavy loads of bricks to peoples homes and other construction sites. Yet after a grueling day he engrossed himself in studies at night attending online classes doing self-study till early morning -- all to give himself a fighting chance of changing his destiny. In 2023 Sarfaraz joined Physics Wallahs Yakeen 2.0 batch to prepare NEET Exams and studied like he was spellbound sacrificing countless nights of sleep to realise his dream of becoming a doctor. From labourer to doctor In the video shared by Alakh Pandey Sarfaraz revealed how people sneered at him and taunted him asking why he studied so hard when hes always going to end up as a labourer. But the constant sneers only strengthened his resolve to conquer every obstacle in his path. Ultimately Sarfarazs hard work bore fruit as he cracked the prestigious NEET test and secured a seat at the Nil Ratan Sarkar Medical College. However Sarfaraz did not let the success get to his head and even today he returns home during college breaks and works as a labourer to support his family. Sarfaraz gets emotional in the video recalling how people sneered at his efforts and how he studied on a damaged mobile phone screen while preparing for NEET. His mother narrates her sons arduous journey revealing how he used to sit in the open in winters to study as their house did not even have a roof at the time. Sarfaraz story has gone viral on social media platforms with users lauding Sarfarazs sheer determination and hard work.
