At IIMC Spandan Hall on Thursday, Startup Odisha and the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), Dhenkanal, collaborated to host a workshop on innovation, entrepreneurship, and startups. The workshop’s objectives were to foster creative thinking and equip students with entrepreneurial skills.
Prof. Anand Pradhan, IIMC Regional Director, spoke to the students on how digital disruption has caused revolutionary changes in the media sector. He said, “This workshop will open up new possibilities in entrepreneurial journalism for our students,” highlighting the significance of using innovation to adjust to the changing media environment. According to Pradhan, the program will foster an entrepreneurial journalism culture.
The workshop’s main goal was to encourage creativity and ideation. To present their business plans and proposals to a panel of judges, the students divided into eight groups. Students were inspired to think imaginatively by the participatory style, which gave them real-world experience presenting their ideas.
Expert Incubation Consultant for Odisha Startups Jhansi Lakshmi urged students to use Odisha’s wealth of natural resources for business endeavors and emphasized the significance of these resources. She also emphasized how important problem-solving and cooperation are in a startup setting. Siddhant Satpathy and Sony Samal, two experts, gave a talk on encouraging entrepreneurial concepts and tactics. She then gave the kids an assignment to propose their own company ideas as part of an interactive session. Students were able to put the ideas they had learned into practice and get a realistic grasp of startup dynamics via this practical exercise.
Women’s College and Dhenkanal Autonomous College students also took part in the activity. Academic Associate Sanat Padhi and Assistant Professor Chirasrota Jena provided a synopsis of the proceedings.
