Fans of the hit series have taken to social media to stand up for characters who've been labelled "less likeable" as anticipation builds for season six, set to land on next month.
The buzz around the show has only grown with Netflix's confirmation that a seventh season is in the pipeline, cementing its status as a fan favourite.
Viewers are eagerly awaiting the return of Mel Monroe (played by Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson) to their screens, but there's a surge of support for those characters previously deemed "annoying".
A Reddit user going by @gymnasylum sparked the discussion, posting: "Lizzie has shown so much growth in her character, yet people are still annoyed by her character and I don't know why."
The shout-out for Lizzie (Sarah Dugdale) was just the start, as the fan also tipped their hat to other characters who may have been unfairly judged in past seasons, reports .
"There are people that don't like Jack and I get that he has some qualities that aren't the best, but he's a great guy. Brady needs a break. Please. Let him live a good life," they implored.
"Preacher also deserves better than what he was given. I love this series so much. I can't wait for the next season." (sic)
The comments section quickly filled with other fans chiming in with their takes on Lizzie, Brady (Ben Hollingsworth), and Jack (Martin Henderson).
Fans took to social media to share their thoughts on the show, with one fan saying: "Lizzie is one of my favourites and I'm glad she's staying around."
However, another fan had a differing opinion, stating: "I like Hope, Preacher, Brady, Paige.... Most of the unliked characters. But not Lizzie lol. I can't!!" (sic)
Some fans expressed their appreciation for Brady, with one writing: "I agree with Brady. He has the most growth and it would be nice to see him happy." Another fan concurred, saying: "I love Hope, and I also love Brady."
Meanwhile, a fan shared their honest opinion, saying: "lol idk if this is a controversial opinion but I love all the characters in Virgin River honestly." (sic)
Another post on Reddit from @gymnasylum also defended Brady, stating: "Rooting for Brady."
They continued: "I'm so tired that he's the bad guy. He wants to be better. I hope he has a better storyline next season but it's probably doubtful with Calvin still looming over him."
A fan commented: "I hope he doesn't have a criminal-adjacent storyline. I want Lark to go away and him to gain some friendships."
The speculation about what awaits our favourite Virgin River characters in season 6 is only growing, as fans have just one month to wait until it is back on the small screen.
Virgin River season 6 will premiere Thursday, December 19 on Netflix.
