Due to the absence of opener Shafali Varma, Shreyanka Patil, Uma Chetry, Hemalatha Dayalan, and Sayali Satghare, the 16-man team has undergone several changes. The team consists of Harleen Deol, Richa Ghosh, Minnu Mani, Titas Sadhu, and Priya Punia, according to the senior women’s selection committee. After being excluded from the series against New Zealand, the five players are returning to the Indian squad.

The Allan Border Field in Brisbane will host the Australia vs. India One-Day International series on December 5 and 8. On December 11, the third ODI will take place at Perth’s WACA Ground.

The ICC Women’s Championship includes the Australia vs. India One-Day International matches.

Shafali’s exclusion is hardly shocking, particularly considering that the top-order batsman has recently failed to produce any impressive runs. The 20-year-old hasn’t been playing well; in the previous six games, he has only scored 108 runs, with a high of 33.

During the home ODI series against Australia, Shafali was dismissed halfway through, but the right-handed batsman returned in June in Bengaluru against South Africa. She was previously ranked highly, but she was unable to capitalize on the chance since she did not get a 50 in the format.

The 20-year-old stunned the cricketing world when she made her debut three years ago as a youngster. However, following her undefeated 71 against Sri Lanka in 2022, she has failed to make an impression and has yet to reach a half-century.

In the meanwhile, Harleen Deol rejoins the squad after missing the previous two ODI series. In December 2023, the all-rounder last participated in the three-match home ODI series against Australia.

This year, Harleen Deol did not play for India in the home series against South Africa and New Zealand.

The 16-man team’s two wicketkeepers are Richa Ghosh and Yastika Bhatia.

The following players are part of India’s squad for the three-match Australia vs. India ODI series: Tejal Hasabnis, Deepti Sharma, Minnu Mani, Priya Mishra, Radha Yadav, Titas Sadhu, Arundhati Reddy, Renuka Singh Thakur, Saima Thakor, Harmanpreet Kaur (captain), Smriti Mandhana (vice-captain), Priya Punia, Jemimah Rodrigues, Harleen Deol, and Richa Ghosh (wicketkeeper).
