schedule for the 2024 Gavaskar Trophy: The much anticipated five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy series between Australia and India is set to start later this week. The hosts will want to break India’s hegemony and take home the coveted trophy, while the Men in Blue are aiming for their third straight Test series victory down under.
In addition, the team captained by Rohit Sharma must win this series by a score of 4-0 in order to go straight to the WTC final, which takes place in June of the following year. It should be mentioned that Australia has lost this series in 2018-19 and 2020-21 and hasn’t triumphed in a home Test series against Australia since 2014. However, they won both the 2023 ODI World Cup summit match and the WTC final last year.
Both of these sides will be participating in a five-match Test series for the first time in the previous 30 years.
