The Global Alliance against Hunger and Poverty was established at the G20 Summit, which was led by Brazil. The African Union, the European Union, 24 international organizations, nine international financial institutions, 31 charitable and non-governmental organizations, and 82 nations were among the 148 founding members of the alliance.

The alliance’s creative objective is to expedite international efforts to end hunger and poverty, according to a statement released by the Brazilian government. Reaching 500 million individuals with cash transfer programs in low- and lower-middle-income nations by 2030 is one of the pledges and announcements.

According to the Brazilian government, the Alliance also intends to raise billions of dollars in grants and credit through multilateral development banks to carry out these and other programs, while also providing high-quality school meals to an additional 150 million children in nations where child poverty and hunger are endemic.
