The cash scandal before voting in Maharashtra has created a political turmoil. BJP General Secretary Vinod Tawde has been accused of distributing money at Hotel Vivant. This allegation is from the workers of Bahujan Vikas Aghadi. He says that Tawde distributed the money in Vivant Hotel in Virar East. Tawde and assembly seat candidate Rajan Naik had brought Rs 5 crore to distribute. 3 FIRs have been registered in this entire matter. One FIR has been registered against Tawde, the second against BJP candidate Rajan Naik and others and the third against the workers of Bahujan Vikas Aghadi. Vinod Tawde's statement has also come in this matter.
Tawde said, there was a meeting of MLAs of Nalasopara. I had come to give them information about the model code of conduct for the voting day, how the voting machine would be sealed and what to do if any objection was to be lodged. Bahujan Vikas Aghadi workers Appa Thakur and Kshitij felt that we were distributing money. Election Commission and police should investigate the matter. CCTV footage should also be examined.
Before Tawde's statement, the Election Commission team searched the hotel. During this period, Rs 9 lakh 93 thousand and Rs 500 were received. Some documents have also been found. Vinod Tawde had brought this money or it belongs to BJP…it is not clear yet. The Election Commission and the Collector are talking about investigation regarding this.
Palghar Collector Govind Maruti says that BJP leader Vinod Tawde and his workers are distributing money, a similar complaint was made by the workers and leaders of Bahujan Vikas Aghadi. After this, the election related officials and the Joint CP including both the DCPs went to the spot. Our vigilance team has recovered Rs 9 lakh 93 thousand 500 during the search operation in the hotel. Apart from this, some documents have been found. On the basis of that, FIR is being registered and investigation is being done.
Regarding the cash scandal, Congress said, Vinod Tawde has been caught while distributing money in a hotel in Maharashtra. He took the money away in a bag. There they were calling people and distributing money. When the public came to know about this news, there was a huge uproar. Many videos of Vinod Tawde with money are coming out. Voting is going to take place in Maharashtra. Just before that, BJP leaders are busy influencing the elections with the help of money. This includes everyone from workers to big leaders. The Election Commission should take cognizance of this matter and take strict action.
Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has questioned PM Modi in this matter. In a post he said, Modi ji, from whose SAFE has this Rs 5 crore come out? Who sent you to Tempo after looting public money? Tawde has replied to Rahul's post. He said, you come to Nalasopara, see the CCTV footage of the hotel. See the entire proceedings of the Election Commission held there. Prove that this is how the money came. If this kind of statement without any information is not childish then what is it?
Ahead of the voting for Maharashtra Assembly elections on November 20, Rs 1.98 crore has been seized from a hotel in Nashik. Nashik District Magistrate Jalaj Sharma said, as per the information received so far, Rs 1.98 crore has been seized from there. The team is taking further action.
During the Model Code of Conduct, those having cash of more than Rs 50,000 should have valid documents. Whereas for amounts less than this, no paperwork is required. Officials said that earlier on November 12, Thane Police had seized Rs 2.5 crore from a row house in Sector 16 of Nerul, Navi Mumbai.
