The JEE Advanced 2025 exam rules have been changed once again. The number of attempts to appear in the exam has been reduced to two again. Recently the number of attempts was increased from two to three. Now according to the rules, candidates who have passed JEE Mains can appear in the JEE Advanced exam only twice.

The Joint Entrance Board (JAB) has revised the eligibility rules for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2025. The board had said in the notification issued on 5 November 2024 that candidates who have passed the JEE Mains can appear for the JEE Advanced exam three times, but now this rule has been withdrawn. Now candidates can appear for the Advanced exam only twice.

In the JAB meeting held on 15 November 2024, after considering various competitive requirements, it was decided to re-implement the old rule. Now the earlier eligibility rules which were in place since 2013 have been restored.

JEE Advanced 2025: What is the age limit for JEE Advanced?

To appear in the JEE Advanced 2025 exam, the candidate must have been born on or after 1 October 2000. Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and disabled candidates have also got a relaxation of 5 years in the maximum age limit. These candidates should have been born on or after 1 October 1995.

JEE Advanced 2025 Exam: Who appears in the JEE Advanced exam?

2.50 lakh candidates who get top rank in the JEE Mains exam appear for the Advanced exam. According to the new rules, students who have been admission to IIT. They cannot appear for the JEE Advanced exam twice, but candidates who have been admission in NIT. They can appear for the exam.
