Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has not fully recovered from fever, but on Tuesday he visited Jupiter Hospital in Thane. After consulting doctors, Shinde will decide whether to return to 'Varsha' bungalow, the official residence of the Chief Minister, or stay at his residence in Thane. According to the information, if his condition does not improve, he can stay at his residence in Thane. The visit came as he was suffering from health issues including throat infection and fever. Shinde's medical team has suggested undergoing tests to monitor his condition and seek further treatment if needed.
Despite health concerns, Shinde is likely to participate in the discussions to 'Mahaparinirvan Day' through video conferencing, where he will meet officials and discuss important matters. It is noteworthy that Shinde's health had deteriorated after visiting his native village in Satara district last Friday. A close aide of Shinde also said that the acting CM had been ill for some time and developed fever on Saturday, November 30.
Meanwhile, Mahayuti alliance leaders including Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Girish Mahajan, Dhananjay Munde, Anil Patil and Gulabrao Patil visited Azad Maidan to review the preparations for the upcoming swearing-in ceremony. The leaders are ensuring that all necessary preparations have been completed for the event to be held on December 5. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also attend the swearing-in ceremony.
Devendra Fadnavis is in front for the post of Chief Minister
BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis is considered the frontrunner for the chief minister's post, but the Mahayuti alliance has not announced any name yet, while the state BJP legislature party meeting is scheduled to be held on December 4. The BJP has appointed Union minister Nirmala Sitharaman and former Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani as central observers for the meeting to be held on Wednesday morning, where the state legislature party leader will be elected.

The BJP-led Mahayuti alliance won a landslide victory in the elections by winning 235 assembly seats, while the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi got only 49 seats. Assembly elections in the state were held in a single phase on November 20. The results of the state elections were declared on 23 November and the names of the elected assembly members were published in the State Gazette of the Government of Maharashtra through a notification from the ECI. This was done in accordance with the provisions of Section 73 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951.
