Sainsbury's will slash the price of its Christmas vegetables to 15p - but there's a catch.
The major UK supermarket is the first to announce price cuts to their staples for both in-store and online. However, you won't be able to benefit from the discounts just yet as the new prices will only be available from Wednesday, December 18.
From then, shoppers can get Brussels sprouts, carrots, parsnips, red and white cabbage, swede, and white potatoes for just 15p, with the offering running all week until Eve. Another catch to the deal is that you will also need a Nectar Card to get these discounts. Without one, prices can range from 62p all the way up to £1.35.
On December 19, is reducing the price of its Fresh Standard Turkeys by 25% to £3 a kilo for Nectar Card members. This offer will run until Day. For those who do not eat meat, Sainsbury's will also be reducing the price of its Scottish Whole Salmon to £7.50 per kg with a Nectar. Without one, this will set you back £15p per kg. This offer will run from December 18 to New Year's Eve on December 31.
According to the supermarket's own figures, these discounts mean that Sainsbury’s shoppers will be able to buy the majority of their Christmas dinner for just £9.30.
