Ingredients required to make Gobi Do Pyaza Recipe:
– Cauliflower: 1 medium size (cut into small pieces)
– Onions: 2 large (1 finely chopped and 1 thickly diced)
– Tomato: 2 (puree or chop finely)
– Capsicum: 1 (cut into squares, optional)
– Ginger-garlic paste: 1 teaspoon
– Green chillies: 2-3 (chopped)
– Turmeric powder: 1/2 teaspoon
– Red chilli powder: 1 teaspoon
– Coriander powder: 1 teaspoon
– Garam masala: 1/2 teaspoon
– Cumin: 1/2 teaspoon
– Kasuri Methi: 1/2 teaspoon
– Salt: as per taste
– Oil: 3-4 tbsp
To decorate:
– Coriander leaves: 2 tbsp (chopped)
– Lemon juice: 1 teaspoon
How to make Gobi Do Pyaza Recipe
Preparation of Cabbage:
1. Boil the cabbage pieces in light salt and water for 3-4 minutes or put them in hot water.
2. Remove from water, filter and dry.
Fry the Cabbage:
1. Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a pan.
2. Fry the cauliflower until light golden and crisp and keep aside.
Prepare the masala:
1. Heat some more oil in the pan.
2. Add cumin seeds, when it starts crackling, add chopped onion and green chillies and fry until golden.
3. Add ginger-garlic paste and fry until fragrant.
4. Add tomato puree and spices (turmeric, red chilli, coriander powder, and salt) and fry the spices well.
Add onion and capsicum:
1. Add square chopped onion and capsicum to the spices and fry on high flame for 2-3 minutes.
2. Add fried cabbage to it and mix well.
5. Final Touch:
1. Add garam masala and kasoori methi and cook for 2 minutes.
2. Add lemon juice and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
Serving Method:
– Serve Gobi Do Pyaza with hot roti, naan or paratha.
