Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal are producers now with Girls Will Be Girls. The Pushing Buttons Studios production marks the directorial debut of Shuchi Talati. Before releasing on Amazon Prime Video, the film had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. In a recent interview, Ali said they had to break their FDs to back the film.

Ali said, "We are all from a country that is famous for its jugaad… its ability to figure out a way to get things done. Honestly, we asked for money from here and there, and even broke our FDs to fund Girls Will be Girls. But we managed. Now, it is getting a nice release, and many sections of the audience are watching it. It is possible.”He added, “Our place is open for collaborations, and we would love to listen to a lot of ideas. About Girls Will Be Girls Girls Will be Girls is a coming-of-age drama film written and directed by Shuchi Talati. It stars Preeti Panigrahi, Kani Kusruti, and Kesav Binoy Kiron. The film is set in a boarding school in the Himalayan foothills, and centres around the teenage protagonist Mira's romance with a charming new student, her subsequent sexual awakening, and at times strained relationship with her protective mother. The film premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, participating in the competition section of the festival. It released on December 18, 2024, on Amazon Prime Video. The film was produced by Pushing Buttons Studios and received a production grant from the French Aide aux Cinemas du Monde in 2021. It was shot over 45 days in the northern Indian region of Uttarakhand and the capital Dehradun.
