The war is now intensifying in the world of electric scooters. Bajaj Auto has now launched Bajaj Chetak Series-35. This is an upgraded version of the old Chetak. In the market, it is going to compete with scooters like Ather Ritza, Ola S1 Pro, TVS iQube. Besides, it will now have to face the challenge of the electric version of the country's most popular scooter Honda Activa and Honda Q1. Let us understand their difference

Bajaj Chetak new series

Bajaj has redesigned the architecture of Chetak and launched its new Chetak 35 series by increasing the battery range power. The company has kept its starting price at Rs 1.20 lakh. This is the price of Bengaluru. Its maximum price can go up to Rs 1.27 lakh. This is the second generation electric scooter of Bajaj Chetak.

In contrast, Honda Activa E has made a late entry in the electric scooter market. The company has not yet disclosed its price. However, it can come between Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.20 lakh.

What is the range of the scooter?

The biggest factor in an electric scooter is its range. The company is offering a single charge range of 102 km in Honda Activa E. Whereas in Bajaj Chetak, the company is offering a single charge claim range of 153 km. A 3.5 kilo watt battery has been packed in it by the company. Whereas Honda Activa E comes with two swappable batteries of 1.5 kWh each.

What boot space will you get?

The biggest thing Bajaj has done by redesigning Chetak is to improve its boot space. It has now become 35 litres, which is quite similar to the Ather Ritza. Apart from this, front boot space is also present in it. On the contrary, the company has provided swappable batteries in Honda Activa E, which greatly limits the boot space. Whereas its other fixed battery electric scooter Honda Q1 also has a boot space of 26 liters only.

What are the features?

If we talk about features, both the scooters have very similar features. For example, both come with digital cluster meter. CBS braking, disc brake, LED lights and alloy wheels. One big difference is the suspension. Honda Activa E has telescopic spoke suspension. Whereas in Bajaj Chetak it is monoshock.

Apart from this, the torque generated in Chetak is 20 Nm, whereas in Honda Activa E it is better at 22 Nm. The top speed of Honda Activa is 80 km per hour and in Bajaj Chetak it is 73 km per hour. Not only this, you also get 3 driving modes in Honda Activa E.

In this way the difference between Bajaj Chetak and Honda Activa is clear. While Chetak is better in terms of range, features and storage, Honda Activa E is better in terms of riding. Its suspension and power are good.
