A newly married bride from a village in Sadar police station area of Karnal has accused her in-laws of harassing and beating her for dowry. After some time of marriage, they started demanding a car and expensive jewellery. Due to the worry of all these things, her father died of a heart attack. Now the police, understanding the seriousness of this matter, have registered a case against 6 people based on several sections.
The victim who lived in Dard village got married on April 12 in Bir Khedi Haripur village of Kurukshetra. Her parents had spent Rs 7 lakh on the wedding. Apart from this, many dowry items were also given. Even this was not enough for the in-laws and they started demanding a Tata car and expensive jewellery from the girl's family. Not only this, but the in-laws also kept all the money that the victims had with themselves. They started using the victim's clothes without asking her. Instead of supporting her in such a matter, the husband even threw away the gold ring received at the wedding.
Not only this, her in-laws even tried to kill her on 24th May for dowry. They grabbed her hair and beat her up. They tried to kill her by strangling her. But the neighbours gathered together and her life was saved. To save his daughter's marriage, the father borrowed 1 lakh rupees from someone and gave it to the in-laws. But even then their demands did not stop. In such a situation, he was worried and had a heart attack. The Panchayat also tried to handle the situation but nothing changed. In such a situation, the victim had to take the help of the police again. The police took action in this case and arrested the accused.
