Throughout his 14-year career this actor has appeared in numerous films with some becoming hits while other flopped at the box office. There was a time when he struggled financially even had no money to pay his school fees. Today he has become one of the most bankable stars in Bollywood. We are talking about none other than Rajkummar Rao.
While it was not all gold and glitter for Rao the actor once shared his personal stories about his early struggles. During an appearance on Raj Shamanis podcast he revealed that there was a period in his life when he had no money to pay his school fees. His school teachers helped pay his and his siblings fees due to financial difficulties at home. There was a period when our teachers contributed to our fees. They didnt want us to be taken out of school so they chipped in to support us Rao said. He also revealed that his mother would sometimes take assistance from his relatives regarding their schoolbooks and tuition.
The Shahid actor also recalled about his early days in acting career. At 18 he joined Sri Ram Centre in Delhi an acting school. He used to travel everyday either from bus or his motorcycle. The actor when stepped his foot in the city of dreams Mumbai recalled having a very tough time. He only had Rs 18 in his bank account and used to survive on Parle G and Frooti. Rao shared I remember having only Rs 18 left in my account in Mumbai and I lived very frugally. There were three of us living in one flat and I used to skip lunch having just one Parle G biscuit and Frooti for Rs 4.

After graduating from FTII in 2008 Rao spent the next year visiting studios and casting directors. The actor finally got his first film Love Sex Aur Dhokha in 2010. His career progressed with supporting roles in films like Gangs of Wasseypur- Part 2 and Talaash: The Answer Lies Within. He had his breakthrough in 2013 with critically acclaimed dramas like Kai Po Che! and Shahid. The actor continued to starred in hit films like Queen Bareilly Ki Barfi Stree and more.
This year this actor has given the biggest blockbuster of his career Stree 2. It became the first Hindi film to cross Rs 600 crore at the global box office in just 39 days. As per Box Office India Stree 2 grossed Rs 842 crore worldwide emerging as the third-highest Indian film. According to Financial Express Rajkummar Rao boasts an impressive net worth of Rs 81 crore. He will next appear in an action-thriller film Malik as a gangster.
