Actress Mamta Kulkarni has been gaining attention after returning to India a few days ago for a short visit. Once known for making headlines with her performances the actress has come back to the country after leaving it in search of spirituality. Since her return she has been in the spotlight for various reasons one of which is her alleged marriage to the notorious gangster Vicky Goswami. However the actress has neither confirmed nor denied her relationship with the gangster. Reflecting on the topic once again Mamta opened up and said I have never married anyone nor am I married now. It is true that I loved Vicky but he must also know that now my first love is God. The actress had been away from the country but after 25 years she returned following a clean chit from the court in connection with the Rs 2000 crore drug haul case which was registered in Thane in 2016. In this case the police had issued a non-bailable warrant against both Mamta and Vicky. Subsequently in addition to Vicky Ibrahim Baktash Akash and Ghulam Hussain were extradited to the US from Kenya. The US Drug Enforcement Agency arrested them in 2014 as part of a sting operation. Talking about her connection with Vicky Mamta shared in an interview “I have no connection with the drug world as I never met these people. Yes I got connected with Vicky Goswami… In 1996 my spiritual journey began when a guru came into my life. Vicky called me when he was in jail in Dubai and asked me to meet him. When I met him I spent 12 years in devotion. By the time he came out of jail in 2012 all my desires had disappeared. I had no interest in falling in love or getting married. When he came out I had decided not to return to India until he was released. Then he went to Kenya and I came to India for the Kumbh Mela in around 2012-2013. I went straight to Allahabad (now Prayagraj) for ten days and then returned to Dubai.” She further revealed that she is no longer in touch with the gangster. Mamta said Vicky went back to Kenya and once or twice I went to meet him before returning to Dubai. He had already been accused in Kenya and I was not with him during that time. From 2016 to 2024 I focused on my own spiritual journey. She added “Now I am not in touch with him; I last contacted him in 2016.” Meanwhile regarding her return Mamta mentioned that she is looking forward to attending the MAHA KUMBH in 2025.
