Vishwa Hindu Parishad spokesperson Vinod Bansal condemned the incidents of breaking idols of Hindu deities in Bangladesh. He has demanded strict action in this matter from the interim government led by Mohammad Yunus.

Speaking to news agency ANI, Vinod Bansal said, 'There was a time when the name of Maa Kali was heard in Bangladesh, today the same temples of Kali are being demolished.'

VHP condemned the violence

Bansal said, 'Three more idols were broken yesterday. The Bangladesh government should take strict action on this. Violence against Hindus should stop.'

Let us tell you that on Saturday morning, the police in Bangladesh arrested a person on charges of breaking Hindu deity idols. Police officer Abul Khair gave this information.

Two idols broken
The officer said that the age of the accused is about 37 years. He will be produced in court today. The name of the arrested accused is being told as Azharul. According to the police, the accused had broken the glasses of two statues in a temple under construction in the Shakui area.

The government responded

Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh had said in a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha that 'till December 8 this year, 2200 cases related to violence against Hindus and other minorities have been reported in Bangladesh. At the same time, till October 2024, 112 such cases were found in Pakistan.'

He also said that the government is taking this matter seriously and has also informed the Bangladesh government about it. The minister said that India expects Bangladesh to take all important steps to protect Hindus and other minorities.

Attacks on minorities increased.
This time is very volatile for Bangladesh. It started with a student protest against former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. This movement took a violent turn in no time. During this time, Hindu minorities were also attacked and temples were demolished.

This situation arose because students of various universities in Bangladesh had demanded a review of the quota system in the country. After the protests, Sheikh Hasina had to flee the country.

600 people died

About 600 people died in the protests and the violence that took place during this period. Hasina took refuge in India and Mohammad Yunus formed an interim government in Bangladesh. Chinmay Krishna Das, a priest of ISKCON, was also arrested in Dhaka on charges of treason.
