Playing for Uttar Pradesh yesterday, Sameer Rizvi immortalised his name in the world of cricket by scoring more than 200 runs in just 97 balls against Tripura in the Under-23 State A Trophy match. Sameer Rizvi has become the fastest player to score a double century in List A cricket. Before him, this record was registered in the name of New Zealand's Chad Bowes, who did this feat in 107 balls.

By playing a historic innings of 201* runs in just 97 balls against Tripura, Sameer Rizvi has become the fastest batsman to score a double century in List A cricket. He has done this feat while batting at number 4. During this innings, he has also hit 20 sixes and 13 fours. Apart from Sameer, Adarsh Singh and Shaurya Singh also scored brilliant half-centuries. Both batsmen scored 52 and 51 runs respectively.
Thanks to their innings, their team scored 405/4 runs in 50 overs while batting first. Chasing this huge target, Tripura's team could only score 253/9 runs in 50 overs and lost the match by 152 runs. Anand Bhowmick played the biggest innings of 68 runs for Tripura.
