New Delhi: As the first female cricket player to score more than 1600 runs in a single year Indian opening batter Smriti Mandhana has made history. She reached this milestone in the first Womens ODI against the West Indies in Vadodara with an incredible 91 runs off 102 balls. Mandhana led India to a commanding 314/9 thanks to his outstanding performance. Her collaboration with newcomer Pratika Rawal (40 off 69) created the groundwork for the middle order to develop upon. India surpassed 300 runs thanks to contributions from Jemimah Rodrigues (31 off 19) Harmanpreet Kaur (34 off 23) Harleen Deol (44 off 50) and Richa Ghosh (26 off 12). Smriti Mandhanas remarkable feat highlights her exceptional form in 2024. She has now accumulated more than 1600 runs in the year surpassing Laura Wolvaardts total of 1593 runs.
