After winning the Big Cricket League, veteran Indian fast bowler Irfan Pathan imitated Rohit Sharma’s famous T20 World Cup walk.
After beating the Southern Spartans by seven wickets in the final, Pathan, who was captaining the Mumbai Marines squad throughout the competition, guided them to victory.
Phil Mustard’s 78 and Suresh Raina’s 51 helped the Spartans to a commanding 210-6 in 20 overs. But Manan Sharma’s 89 and Jesal Karia’s 75 helped Mumbai chase down the score; therefore, it was insufficient for a victory.
Rohit’s sluggish stroll was mimicked by Irfan at the prize distribution. Notably, Rohit guided the Indian squad to victory in the June 2024 T20 World Cup. Before Barbados’ festivities started, Rohit gave the squad his signature leisurely stroll after winning the championship.
India won their second T20 World Cup after defeating South Africa in the championship match.
Lionel Messi initially brought attention to the walk after he led Argentina to victory in the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar. Argentina won their third World Cup after defeating France in the final.
After guiding Barbados Royals to a CPL victory against Trinbago Knight Riders, Hayley Matthews of the West Indies recently reproduced it as well.
Regarding Rohit, the Indian skipper is now playing Australia in the crucial away Test series, which consists of five matches. The Boxing Day Test match in Melbourne, which starts on December 26, will be his next appearance.
In order to help India win the series and increase their chances of reaching their third consecutive World Test Championship final, Rohit will be trying to make the most of his performance in the fourth Test after seeming out of touch in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy so far.
