New Delhi: Mukesh Ambani owned Reliance Jio Infocomm suffered a huge loss as about 1.65 crore subscribers left the network in a span of four months. In October alone Reliance Jio Indias largest telecom operator lost 37.6 lakh mobile subscribers. According to the latest report by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) Vodafone Idea lost 19.3 lakh subscribers in October compared to 15.5 lakh subscribers in September. On the other hand Sunil Mittal’s Bharti Airtel Ltd. recorded a gain of five lakh subscribers in October. According to the pundits the sharp loss in the number of subscribers could be the tariff hike announced by private players like Jio Airtel and Videocon Idea in June as the revised rates came into effect from July.
