Instagram continuously brings features to improve its platform. Now the company is working on a feature in which friends' story highlights will be brought back to the users. This feature is going to be useful for those who are not able to see their friends' Instagram stories on time. Currently Instagram is testing this feature with some users and it can be rolled out in the coming days.
Users can post a photo or a short video on Instagram Stories. This story disappears automatically after 24 hours. If users want, they can save this story as a 'Highlight' on their profile. After being saved in Highlights, these stories are not deleted and can be viewed whenever they want.
Where will the stories highlights be seen?
Instagram will now show these stories highlights at the end of the stories tray in the new feature. Stories tray, that is, the place where you see your friends' stories. It is also important to mention here that you will see the stories highlights only when you have seen all the stories of all your friends. When Instagram has no stories left to show you, then it will show you the stories highlights.
What will be the benefit of this feature?
This feature is part of Instagram's big initiative in which it wants to show users the content of their friends and family first. Currently, the platform's focus is on reels and algorithm-based recommendations. In such a situation, many times friends' stories are missed. To overcome this problem, a new feature is being tested. It may take a lot of time from testing to roll out.
