Israel's Defense Minister Katz has for the first time taken responsibility for the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh. The Defense Minister has confirmed that Israel killed Hamas' top leader Haniyeh last summer. He is threatening to take similar action against the leadership of the Houthi rebel group in Yemen.

Defense Minister Katz has for the first time acknowledged the killing of Ismail Haniyeh, who was killed in an explosion in Iran in July. After Haniyeh's death, it was believed that Israel was behind the blast. However, leaders had already indicated Israel's involvement in it.

In a speech on Monday, Katz said the Houthis would suffer the same fate as other members of the Iranian-led coalition in the region, including Haniyeh. He also said Israel has killed other Hamas and Hezbollah leaders, helped overthrow Syria's Bashar Assad, and destroyed Iran's anti-aircraft systems.

He said that we would attack the strategic infrastructure of the Houthis and behead the leadership. Referring to the Hamas and Hezbollah leaders killed in previous Israeli attacks, he said that just as we did with Haniyeh, Sinwar, and Nasrallah in Tehran, Gaza and Lebanon, we will do the same in Hodeida and Sanaa.

Several missiles and drones launched on Israel

The Iran-backed Houthis have launched numerous missiles and drones at Israel throughout the war, including one that fell in Tel Aviv on Saturday and wounded at least 16 people. Israel has carried out three airstrikes in Yemen during the war and has vowed to increase pressure on the rebel group until the missile attacks stop.
