1109 job offers received in IIT Kanpur, 28 children will go to international companies

More than 1000 job offers have been made in the first phase at IIT Kanpur, and many of these children have also got international job offers. The institute said that there has been an increase in job offers this year.

1,109 job offers were made to the students of the 2024-25 batch of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur during the first phase of campus placement. The institute issued a press release on Monday and gave this information. Of these, the students accepted 1,035 offers. These include both campus placement and pre-placement offers. The institute also saw a 27 percent increase in the number of international offers as compared to last year. A total of 28 international offers were given in the first phase of 2024-25 placement.

More than 250 companies participated

IIT Kanpur has reported an increase in placements in big companies this time and strong offers from public sector undertakings (PSUs), in which BCPL has been the top recruiter. IIT Kanpur said that more than 250 companies participated in the first phase, including BPCL, NPCI, Databricks, Microsoft, Google, Oracle, Qualcomm, Intel, Texas Instruments, Meesho, Shiprocket, Reliance, Merrill Life, Deutsche Bank, ICICI Bank, American Express, SLB, Micron, Cars24 and FedEx.

IIT Kanpur Director Prof. Manindra Agarwal said that the institute is proud of the performance of the students during the first phase. He further said, "The large number of offers including international opportunities speaks of the quality training of our students. I congratulate all the selected students and wish all the best to those preparing for the second phase of placements. I also thank our recruitment partners for their continued faith in the talent of IIT Kanpur and appreciate the efforts of the Student Placement Office (SPO)."

At the same time, Professor Raju Kumar Gupta, Chairman of SPO, said that he is optimistic about the second phase due to the increase in big companies and international placements in the first phase. He said, "We are grateful for the continued support of all our recruiters and alumni, and we hope to maintain this momentum in the upcoming phase."
