Aviation regulator DGCA has imposed a fine of Rs 10 lakh on Akasa Airlines. This fine has been imposed at Bengaluru airport in the month of September to stop some passengers from boarding the plane. Also, he has been imposed for not paying compensation on time. In recent months, Akasa Airlines had come under scrutiny due to allegations of violation of certain rules.
this was the case
Earlier this month, some pilots also raised concerns about the airline's training. However, the company had termed these allegations as false. This fine of DGCA is related to those seven passengers who were not allowed to board the flight from Bengaluru to Pune on 6 September. That plane was stopped due to a technical problem.
Akasa Airlines refused
After this, the airline sent these passengers in another Indigo flight without compensation. It had departed more than an hour behind schedule. DGCA found that compensation was not given to the passengers. On December 23, DGCA issued an order saying that Akasa Air started paying compensation to passengers only after DGCA's notice.
Fine imposed on Akasa Air
In its clarification, the airline said that the passengers were not allowed to board because there were no seats in the plane. They had arranged for an alternative flight without compensation. Later DGCA imposed a fine of Rs 10 lakh on Akasa Air. Also said that if corrective action had been taken on time, this problem could have been avoided. The airline said that it is trying to resolve the matter in collaboration with DGCA.
