According to Dimsum DailyCheung returned to social media in December following a year-long break due to health issues, participating in several projects. One of these was a live broadcast on Meituan, a Chinese shopping platform for locally sourced consumer products and retail services, where she introduced and recommended products she finds good to the audience.
Several reports described her sales revenue as a “record” for a product-selling livestream.
Cheung, 44, first gained attention in 1998 when she appeared in a television commercial for lemon tea, which caught the eye of Hong Kong filmmaker Stephen Chow. She made her film debut in Chow’s 1999 film “King of Comedy,” playing a call girl. The film was the highest-grossing local film of that year and catapulted Cheung to stardom.
In 2006, Cheung married Hong Kong actor Nicholas Tse, also 44. The couple divorced in 2011 after having two sons.
Cheung welcomed her third son in 2018 but has kept the father’s identity private, leading to widespread speculation. Media tycoon Sun Donghai was rumored to be the father, but he denied these claims and threatened legal action against those spreading the rumors.
