This scripture is meant to explain the life of God. At the same time, Bhagwat Geeta is a short text, which is based on the conversation between Arjun and Shri Krishna. In this, Shri Krishna taught Arjuna about the right path of life, religion, karma, devotion and yoga. In simple language, Srimad Bhagwat Purana is based on the stories of God, while Bhagwat Geeta is meant to explain the right principles of life. The purpose of both is different, but both are very special.

Description and importance of Srimad Bhagwat
Srimad Bhagwat is considered one of the 18 Puranas of Hinduism. It is also called Bhagwat Purana. It is a detailed text, consisting of 12 skandhas (sections) and approximately 18000 verses. In this book, the life of Lord Shri Krishna, his wonderful deeds, his kindness towards the devotees and about Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh are discussed in detail. This scripture is a wonderful source of worship, devotion to God and understanding his divine qualities. It contains many teachings and guidance for the devotees, through which they can progress their soul.

Purpose and message of Bhagavad Gita
The Bhagavad Gita is part of the Bhishma Parva of the Mahabharata and describes a dialogue between Lord Krishna and Arjuna. This short treatise consists of 700 verses and its main objective is to explain the moral and philosophical aspects of life. In the Gita, Lord Krishna has told Arjuna about the many paths of dharma, karma, bhakti, knowledge, and yoga. It especially shows religion and devotion as a major path through which a person can face every crisis of life and attain enlightenment. Bhagavad Gita is considered to be the most perfect guidance to overcome the difficulties of life and follow the right path. The main difference between these two scriptures is that Srimad Bhagwat describes the life and pastimes of Lord Krishna in detail, whereas Bhagwat Geeta gives solutions to the spiritual and philosophical problems of life.
