New Delhi: After Allu Arjun’s stampede controversy, the issue has been propelled to the state level as politicians have caught hold of the case. To discuss the industry- problems, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is set to meet prominent Tollywood celebs such as Chiranjeevi, Venkatesh and several other directors who are producers.
For context, during an early screening of Pushpa 2 on December 4, 2024, Allu Arjun and his family arrive at Sandhya Theatre unannounced. This led to a wave of bystanders and fans gathering outside the venue. When Allu Arjun was escorted outside and waved to the fans, this created a stampede that cost a life and resulted in injuries. The actor was arrested and released in relation to the case. With this in mind, why are celebs going to meet CM Revanth Reddy? What’s on the agenda? Here is what we know.
As mentioned, the Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will meet celebs at the Command Control Centre on Thursday, December 26, at 10 AM. The chairman of the Telangana Film Development Corporation, Dil Raju spoke to the press and announced the meeting. The delegation will speak on topics such as benefit shows, and ticket price hikes, among other topics.
Further, it was also revealed that the victim Revathi’s family and son, Sir Tej, who was injured at the stampede, have been offered Rs 2 crore as financial assistance. Three people have pledged this amount, Allu Arjun will contribute 1 crore while Pushpa 2 director Sukumar announced Rs 50 lakh and the producers of the film will give the remaining Rs 50 lakh.
Dil Raju also visited KIMS hospital in Secunderabad, Hyderabad, to meet the victim’s family. He shared that Sri Tej is responding well to the treatment and was taken off the ventilator about two days ago. Sri Tej’s father, Bhaskar, expressed gratitude for the immense support from the government and public and said, “The child responded after 20 days. He is responding today. Allu Arjun and the Telangana government are supporting us.”
