Anil Ambani recalled their modest lifestyle during the same interview and said “We used to live on the fourth floor in a one-bedroom hall with a kitchen. There were no attached toilets just a common one for maybe a hundred people on the same floor. It was in that environment that we grew up.” Even clothing was a shared commodity between the brothers. Anil elaborated “We didn’t have many clothes. We used to share and alternate outfits. One day my brother would wear a brown trouser and I’d wear black.
