The trouble in Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson’s paradise has reached a point where the couple is about to file a formal divorce. However, if they take this step, there is a fair chance that they will be quarreling over the singer and entrepreneurs’ $200 million. Yes, you read that right, if Jessica and Eric file a divorce, reportedly the two will get into a long legal dispute and the former could lose millions of dollars.

Reportedly, married for ten years, Jessica and Eric have lived different lives for quite some time and the couple also shares custody of their three kids. Six years after he declared his NFL retirement, the couple got married in 2014.

The Fortune
According to The US Sun, after playing for the New Orleans Saints and San Francisco 49ers, Eric was able to earn a net worth of about $10 million. On the other hand, Jessica with her fashion business, brand deals, and music career, was able to make her own significant financial portfolio.

Andrew Zashin, a founding partner at Zashin Law and a divorce lawyer with experience in high net worth splits, shared his viewpoint on the case. He mentioned that the couple needs to have their priorities straight and hire competent counsel. They should try to avoid court and needless publicity, or else things can take an uglier turn.

He added that a 'good' lawyer is not a gladiator but a creative problem solver. The appointed legal representative can try his best to find a 'win-win' situation and preserve the parties' wealth. Yet, there’s always a threat that things can blow up.

Meanwhile, Jessica in a cryptic post hinted that she is feeling she has been wronged. She posted a photo of herself in the studio, with the caption, "This comeback is personal, it's an apology to myself for putting up with everything I did not deserve."

For months now, Jessica and Eric have not been wearing their wedding bands. The two have not even denied reports of their separation.
