New Delhi: According to Congress sources on Friday, the daughter of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would arrive in India after midnight. The former PM‘s mortal remains will be on display for public inspection at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) headquarters in Delhi.

‘Last darshan’ will take place on Saturday between 8:00 and 10:00 a.m., according to party sources. At the AICC headquarters, all politicians, including Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi, will honor the former prime minister before the last ceremonies are performed.

Singh, who was famous for implementing the 1991 economic liberalization changes while serving as India’s finance minister, will be cremated close to Rajghat, where prime ministers’ last rites are conducted.

On Friday morning, Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit said that the public viewing schedule is still pending.

He said that upon the arrival of the former prime minister’s daughter from overseas, the exact timetable for the closing ceremonies and public viewing will be decided. Dikshit stated that the final ceremonies may happen tomorrow.

“The timetable is still subject to change. Dikshit told the media, “There is a delay due to the rains. His daughter is coming from abroad and will arrive in the afternoon or evening, after which everything will be decided. The last rites might take place tomorrow.”

People from all walks of life, including politicians, have been expressing their sadness at the passing of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. On Thursday evening, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences for the passing of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, stating that India is grieving the loss of one of its most illustrious leaders.

At the age of 92, Manmohan Singh passed away on Thursday night at AIIMS, Delhi, from age-related illnesses. He was sent to the AIIMS Delhi after experiencing an unexpected loss of consciousness at home.

September 26, 1932, was Manmohan Singh’s birthday. In addition to being an economist, Manmohan Singh was the governor of the Reserve Bank of India from 1982 to 1985. After Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi, he was the longest-standing prime minister of India, lasting from 2004 until 2014.

Singh, who served as India’s finance minister in the administration of PV Narasimha Rao, is credited with bringing about the nation’s economic liberalization in 1991. The reforms enhanced foreign direct investment (FDI) and decreased government control by opening up the Indian economy to global businesses. It made a significant contribution to the economic expansion of the nation.

The National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA), thereafter referred to as MGNREGA, was also established during Manmohan Singh’s administration.

Under the Manmohan Singh administration, the Right to Information Act (RTI) was established in 2005, improving information openness between the people and the government. After 33 years of service, Dr. Manmohan Singh departed from the Rajya Sabha earlier this year.
