Legendary actress Asha Parekh who has graced the Bollywood industry for over seven decades recently had a heartfelt conversation with Arbaaz Khan on The Invincibles Series Season 2. Known for her remarkable performances and unparalleled legacy Parekh touched upon key moments of her personal and professional life sparking intrigue among her fans.
During the episode Parekh addressed long-standing rumours about her alleged marriage to actor Shammi Kapoor. She humorously quipped “Yes we were married” putting a witty twist on the speculation. Reflecting on her career she candidly admitted there were times actresses indulged in alcohol. Recalling an instance she shared how her red eyes from drinking once caused her to postpone a shoot.
The veteran actress also opened up about her challenging interaction with legendary filmmaker Guru Dutt who reportedly told her mother that Parekh did not have the potential to become a heroine. Despite such hurdles she went on to become one of Bollywoods most celebrated stars.
Discussing her strained relationship with actor Shatrughan Sinha Parekh disclosed how their disagreements arose from creative differences. “It was like let’s do things just the way I want. Then he gave some statements in the press which were derogatory to him not to me” she revealed.
After the 1981 film Kaalia Parekh gradually stepped away from acting focusing instead on television. She directed the Gujarati series Jyoti and produced popular shows such as Palash ke Phool and Kora Kagaz under her banner Akruti Productions. In 2008 she appeared as a judge on the reality show Tyohaar Dhamaaka.
