The Haryana government has started a scheme for poor girls and for the welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes, through which their daughters can be married easily without any hassle. The name of that scheme is Mukhyamantri Vivah Shagun Yojana.

The Haryana government has started a scheme for poor girls and for the welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes, through which their daughters can be married easily without any hassle. The name of that scheme is Mukhyamantri Vivah Shagun Yojana.

Under this scheme, the daughters of Scheduled Castes and widows living below the poverty line will be given an amount of 71 thousand in the name of Kanyadan. In this, an amount of 66 rupees will be given as shagun at the time of marriage. Also, an amount of 66 thousand will be made available to them as shagun at the time of marriage. The remaining amount will be given to them at the time of marriage registration.

Who all are included in this scheme and what is its validity

1- The age of the girl should be 18 years or more.

2- Must be a resident of Haryana.

3- It is necessary for the beneficiary to be associated with one of the following categories-

- Daughter of a widow, divorced or destitute woman

- Orphan girl

- Member of SC, DT or Tapriwas communities

- Daughter of a sportsperson (of any caste)

- From any section of the society (general or backward class)

- Disabled person (Divyangjan)

- The annual family income of the person getting the benefit of this scheme should not be more than 1,80,000.
