Amitabh Bachchan is a big name in the film world. He has been active in the film world for more than 50 years. He has made films with many famous directors and has also established good relations with them. Recently, during an interview, writer and film maker Rumi Jaffrey talked about the generosity of Amitabh Bachchan. He recalled how Big B had said that he would do his film for free and so that Rumi Jaffrey was not burdened, he himself bore the expenses of his hotel and chartered plane in Poland.
Rumi Jaffrey reached Ashok Pandit's show and there he recalled this entire incident. During the conversation, the film director said, this incident happened when he was making his film 'Chehre' in the year 2021. Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi were in lead roles in this film. Rumi told that when she had finalized Big B for this film, both she and producer Anand Pandit went to meet Amitabh at his house.
Rumi Jafri further told that even before this meeting, Anand had told him that Amitabh's fees were very high and he wanted Rumi to talk to him about this. Anand said, “I have asked in the market that the amount of money that Amit ji has taken for his previous film is a little too much for me. If we can reduce it through dialogue then it would be great. But his relationship with me is such that whatever he says, I have to say yes to it. So I asked to talk to Rumi.”
Rumi Jaffrey said, “When we reached Amit ji's house, he said that I have called you all here just to tell you that I will not charge anything for this film. I will do this film for free. Then we had tears in our eyes.” The film director also told that the shooting of the film was to be done in Poland and so that there is no burden on Rumi, he himself bore the expenses of his chartered plane and travel. He told, “Amit ji came to Poland on a chartered plane and later Anand Bhai told me that he had paid for his plane and hotel himself. He did not want to burden the budget of the film.”
