Thailand: A tragic accident occurred when Jeju Air Flight 2216, carrying 181 people, crashed at Muan International Airport in South Korea after veering off the runway while attempting to land. The crash happened on Sunday, just a day after Azerbaijan Airlines flight J2-8243 crashed near the city of Aktau, killing 38 of the 67 people on board.The Jeju Air flight, which was returning from Thailand, crashed in South Jeolla province. According to Yonhap News Agency, 28 people have been confirmed dead, with local reports indicating that the plane caught fire upon impact. Two people were found alive as the rescue mission was continuing.Among the 175 passengers aboard the flight from Bangkok, officials say 173 were Korean nationals and two were Thai nationals. There were six crew members.The National Fire Agency sayst the initial fire was brought under control at 9.46am, 43 minutes after the first emergency call was received at 9.03am.
