In what might be a revealing blunder, it seems the gender of Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright's baby might have been accidentally spilled online by one of their pals.
The Netflix actress, aged 37, and her TOWIE star husband, also 37, sent waves of delight through their celebrity circle on Sunday (December 29) with the announcement of their impending bundle of joy.
Not long after they shared an idyllic snapshot of Michelle cradling her growing baby bump on a scenic beach, friends were quick to share their elation in the comments. Among those offering congratulations was Essex and Mayfair-based restaurateur Dylan Hunt, a long-time chum of Mark's, who appeared to drop a hint about the baby's sex, reports The Sun.
He commented: "Make sure he's good Looking and rich, then I might let him take Gia out."
With eagle-eyed fans taking notice, one remarked: "So it's a boy lol."(sic)
Having faced endless speculation about starting a family, the couple finally delivered the happy news over the weekend, telling their followers that 2025 is set to be an "amazing year".
Mark's entourage, including his family, showered him with messages of celebration as he gears up for fatherhood.
His dad, Mark Snr, expressed eagerness at expanding his role as a grandparent, commenting: "4th grandchild incoming and can't wait xxxx".
Meanwhile, Mark's sister, Jess Wright, shared the baby announcement post where Michelle poses elegantly against a beach backdrop, her pregnancy evident.
Accompanying the image, she wrote: "Finally, the news is out," complete with a red love heart emoji.
Mark's cousin, Elliott Wright, joined in the celebrations, quipping: "At last! Haha. So happy for you both. Can't wait to meet the baby"
While the former reality star's best mate and former TOWIE co-star, James 'Arg' Argent, couldn't contain his joy, responding: "I love you and I'm so happy for you both. You're going to be amazing parents. I can't wait to become an uncle."
Ever since tying the knot with Michelle in 2015, Mark has faced constant speculation about fatherhood, at times even defending their relationship against claims they don't spend enough time together.
But in 2019, he told Heart FM listeners that he'd "know" when it was the right moment to start a family, expressing a desire to have "travelled out" before taking on the responsibilities of parenthood. He shared that they were both "excited" about the prospect of having children, although he admitted he wasn't "quite there yet".
Michelle, who's had a whirlwind year with her role in the hit Fool Me Once, has also been under the spotlight regarding motherhood.
Now, she's gearing up for what may be her most challenging and rewarding role to date as she prepares for motherhood.
