Following the horrific discovery of five family members dead in a Lucknow hotel early on Wednesday, a fast police investigation was conducted. According to a senior police officer, the accused, Arshad (24), has been taken into custody in connection with the horrific murders.

The incident took place at Hotel Sharanjit in the Naka neighborhood of the state capital, according to Raveena Tyagi, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Central Lucknow. Arshad, the defendant, is accused of killing five members of his own family. At the crime site, the local police quickly captured him,” Tyagi said.

Arshad’s sisters, Alia (9), Alshia (19), Aksa (16), and Rahmeen (18), as well as their mother, Asma, have been identified as the dead. Arshad is an Agra native, according to the police. According to PTI sources, it seems that family internal conflicts led to the murders.

To gather vital evidence, forensic teams have been sent to the crime site. The police have also begun a thorough investigation, which involves interviewing witnesses and hotel employees. Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime and Headquarters) Babloo Kumar said, “We are conducting a thorough inquiry with the nearby hotel staff, and any new findings will be promptly shared with the media.”

According to PTI, preliminary examinations of the corpses show evidence of brutality. One corpse had obvious injuries on the neck, while another had wounds on the wrist. The authorities will utilize these injuries, witness accounts, and post-mortem data to pinpoint the precise cause of death.

Arshad, who is still detained, is said to have carried out the killings after a family dispute. Police investigations are still ongoing as they try to put together what happened before this terrible incident.

After the inquiry is over, the local authorities have promised to release further information. “We are following up on all leads, and our efforts are focused on ensuring justice for the victims,” Kumar said.
