In August, KRAFTON, the global publisher behind PUBG and Dark and Darker, rescued Tango Gameworks, the studio behind critically acclaimed titles like Hi-Fi Rush from imminent closure. The acquisition marked a turning point for Tango, which had been on the verge of shutting down following Microsoft’s decision to end its operations.
After the acquisition, Tango Gameworks announced a subtle yet meaningful rebranding, which meant a new beginning under KRAFTON’s guidance. The move reflects the renewed focus of the studio on innovation and creativity in game development.
KRAFTON has promised to maintain continuity and growth for Tango Gameworks. In a statement during the acquisition, KRAFTON stated that it would ensure the studio’s identity while maintaining seamless collaboration with Xbox and ZeniMax.
The company said: > “KRAFTON intends to support the Tango Gameworks team in continuing its commitment to innovation and delivering fresh and exciting experiences for fans.”
Tango Gameworks, under KRAFTON leadership, is surely prepared to take new heights with a successful Hi-Fi Rush, while at the same time exploring untapped creative perspectives. Fans must look forward towards the studio successfully delivering groundbreaking experience that reflects well on its record reputation for originality and excellence on the gaming floor.
This acquisition doesn’t only conserve the legacy of Tango Gameworks but is also a doorway to a brighter future in gaming development.
