The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been accused of “polarization” by Congress leader Pramod Tiwari in the run-up to the February 2025 assembly elections in Delhi.
As Prime Minister Narendra Modi prepares to lay the cornerstone of Delhi University’s Veer Savarkar College, he launched an assault on the BJP.
“Savarkarji doesn’t make a significant contribution to Delhi….Whose name ought to be used for the college?” Tiwari asked the reporters.
Elections for the Delhi Assembly are quickly approaching. Let’s polarize, then.Taking a jab at the BJP, he said, “They somehow try to disturb the atmosphere.”
Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha and the Congress, was criticized earlier in the day by BJP national spokesperson CR Kesavan.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will pay a “befitting” and “significant” homage to one of Bharat’s most courageous patriots and ardent nationalists, “Swatantrya” Veer Savarkar, in our nation’s capital, Kesavan informed the media.
“The daring manner in which he valiantly opposed British brutality and how he courageously fought against colonial injustice continues to serve as a sterling inspiration to coming generations, especially our youth,” he told the press.
“As far as the Congress Party’s criticism of Savarkar ji and their demand to rename the college after Manmohan Singh Ji,” Kesavan responded to the Congress’s criticism of Savarkar. Rahul Gandhi should be the target of two questions from the dishonest Congress Party.
“Rahul Gandhi usually spews venom-filled falsehoods about Savarkar ji…,” he stated. “The people of the nation know the difference between Rahul Gandhi who’s out on bail in the National Herald case with allegations of cheating and misappropriation compared to Veer Savarkar ji who spent 27 years in captivity….”
Syed Naseer Hussain, a Congress MP, had before attacked DU for naming a college after Savarkar, claiming that the BJP was trying to elevate politicians who backed the British Raj.
“Many freedom warriors gave their lives in defense of the nation’s independence and sovereignty. It would have been a compliment to them if the college had been named after any of them, Hussain said.
