Varun Dhawans anticipated film Baby John has finally been released on the big screens. While the movie was expected to rake in money it did not perform well at the box office and failed miserably. Despite having a decent opening of Rs 11 crore the movie did benefit from being released on Christmas and around New Year’s. As per reports Baby John was initially released on 3500 screens. However after the opening day the movie witnessed a huge downfall in Day 2 numbers. According to industry tracker Sacnilk Baby John has so far made Rs 36.40 crore. The figures also include the Day 1 earnings which were Rs 11.25 crore. On Wednesday the eighth day of its release the movie earned ₹2.75 crore. On Tuesday December 31 it generated Rs 2.15 crore indicating that the film did not capitalize on the New Year’s Eve or January 1 holiday. By Thursday afternoon the collection stood at Rs 18 lakh. According to Sacnilk the total box office collection of Baby John in India so far is Rs 35.58 crore. Meanwhile the film is projected to achieve a lifetime worldwide collection of Rs 60 crore. Due to its poor performance at the box office and the low demand for the film Baby John has been removed from many single-screen theatres. This has dealt a major blow to Varun Dhawans film. Further speaking of hit films Allu Arjuns Pushpa 2 is still ruling the box office despite the release of Mufasa: The Lion King.
