Jaia Cruz, a 24-year-old woman, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in the stabbing death of a United States Postal Services worker in New York City on Thursday. Cruz, who is from Manhattan, New York was arrested in connection with the brazen daytime stabbing inside a deli in New York. Cruz allegedly stabbed Ray Hodges, a 36-year-old man from the Bronx who worked as a letter carrier with the US Postal Services, assigned to Manhattan. Hodges, who was identified by the New York Police Department, was taken to the hospital after the stabbing but did not survive the attack. The US Postal Service released a statement on the attack, revealing that the victim, Ray Hodges, has been working for the department since July 2022. Furthermore, it is also not known from reports if the suspect had posted a bond in the arrest or had obtained an attorney to make his case before the judge.
